The new amendments to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) have taken effect on 21 December 2001- to cover the Private Sector.
The Apprenticeship Factory, ABN 65088323273, is covered by this Act and it's National Privacy Principles, which set out standards for the collection, use, disclosure and handling of personal information.
The Apprenticeship Factory respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This statement is provided to inform you as to how The Apprenticeship Factory collects, uses and discloses the personal information you provide and what The Apprenticeship Factory expects of you in this regard.

Personal information is essentially any information or opinion that can identify a person (eg. a name and address, telephone number, date of birth etc)

The Apprenticeship Factory collects personal information in order to provide it's various services across a broad regional and metropolitan area in Victoria. These services include; selection, recruitment, appropriate referral and performance monitoring of new apprentices, assisting employers with new apprenticeship administration requirements, and leasing new apprentices to host employers, case managing senior students and those 'at risk' through brokerage and administration of Govt. Funded programs we successfully tender for.

Other purposes may include identifying and developing products and services to meet specific needs of clients, conducting client satisfaction surveys, establishing and administering alliances and networks with other organisations in relation to the promotion, administration and use of The Apprenticeship Factory's respective products and services.

The Apprenticeship Factory has a duty to maintain the confidentiality of its clients' affairs, which includes their personal information. Our duty of confidentiality applies except where disclosure of your personal information is with your consent or required by law. The Apprenticeship Factory discloses personal information to third parties who are involved in the provision of our services. For example, the recruitment procedure for a new apprentice requires providing the apprentice's personal information to; a prospective host employer for work placement, the Registered Training Organisation who will conduct the training, relevant Government bodies for training and employment registration (eg. ATO) and for Superannuation/Workcover insurance requirements.

The Apprenticeship Factory takes reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information it collects from you is accurate complete and up-to-date whenever we use or disclose it, and we will limit the use and disclosure to third parties for specific purposes only (except where the individual has provided consent).

When you provide The Apprenticeship Factory with personal information about other individuals, we rely on you to have made them aware that; you will or may provide their information to us, the purposes The Apprenticeship Factory uses it for, the types of third parties The Apprenticeship Factory discloses it to, and how they can access it (as described in this policy).
If it is sensitive information The Apprenticeship Factory relies on you to have obtained their consent to the above. If you have not done either of these things you must notiify us before you provide the relevant information.

If The Apprenticeship Factory provides you with personal information; you and your representatives must only use it for the purposes we agree to. Where relevant you must meet the requirements of the NPP'S set out in the Privacy Act 1988 and Privacy Amendment (private sector) Act 2000 when collecting, using, disclosing and handling personal information on The Apprenticeship Factory's behalf. This obligation extends to your agents, employees and contractors, or other parties associated with your interests.

The Apprenticeship Factory may make use of your personal information to provide you with information about its products and services.
